Turtledroppings.com Bowl Pick’em Contest Update #5
Here we are New Years Day, a day that will give us SIX Bowl games, or almost 1/6 of the entire Bowl Season in one day’s worth of viewing. If you are looking to make a move, now is the time to do it as only 6 games are left once today ends.
Wow, what a day yesterday. First of all, you don’t get to say this all that much, but what a day for the ACC. Georgia Tech looked like they took pity on the formally number 1 ranked USC Trojans, while Clemson won the biggest game in Dabo Swinney’s Career and then there was NC State who we will just gloss over for the sake of my point.
Actually we are going to gloss over NC State, but not their opponent. As a Maryland fan, it was really hard watching ESPN’s James Franklin Lovefest. Don’t get me wrong, Franklin deserved every minute of it for what he has done at Vanderbilt, but to see the Terps Coach in waiting take a lesser program to higher places, while we debate whether our 4 win season was indeed a step forward, was heart wrenching.
Damn, it’s 2013, why hasn’t anyone invented a time machine yet!?!
Anyway, back to our contest. J had a good day. He doesn’t have much ammo left in the chamber, but he managed to hold off all comers yesterday, and the longer he can hold on to 1st place, well obviously the better, because once his lead is lost, I don’t know if he will be able to get it back (though he does have Bama as his 35 point game).
So here is where we sit going into New Years Day:
