Turtledroppings Bowl Pick’em Contest Update #2

Alright, I’m back from my Amish Christmas (Mom doesn’t have internet or HD TV), hopefully everyone had (or is having) a great Holiday.  There were several game played between the last update and this morning.  Despite those five games being played there really wasn’t much of a shake up.

J is still the man to beat, but will his strategy of heavy loading his points payoff?  I don’t know.  The three Bob’s are next in line, followed by Alex, and then a huge drop off to my writing partner.  There is still plenty of time though, so no one should be giving up.  In fact we are only 20% of the way through Bowl Season, so these standings can go in a million directions between now and when Notre Dame and Alabama kick off.

So with that, here is the latest:

Player Points Comments
J 157 J’s strategy of going for the points early is panning off, but he did lose 40 points with the SDSU loss, and SMU upset, so don’t get discouraged, he could return to the pack
RIW2 100 Lost the last three games…that’s the bad news, the good, or redeemable news is that those 3 games were only worth a combined 15 points
Bob Wim 97 Won last two games for 41 points, so the solid start continues
RIW3 87 J nearly has me doubled, but I’ve only left 18 points behind so far
Alex 79 Hanging in there, but failed to cash in a 33 and 30 point game which could prove costly
Bix 33 Well you moved up a little, but still being lapped by the top half of the standings
Forrest 28 Though the point total is laughable, he hasn’t really faced any serious set back yet, so who knows.
Clemsongirl 26 Sort of the reverse of J in terms of strategy, but that is generally speaking, as she didn’t number the games in order, but is 5 out of 7 despite the lack of points
Mary 20 Lost 35 on Toledo, but other than that, nothing she can’t overcome…if her picks get better!

Tonight we are back at it as Western Kentucky takes on Central Michigan in the Little Caesars Bowl, but I probably don’t have to tell any of you guys that!  Then tomorrow things heat up as we have 3 games, followed by 3 more on Friday then 5 more on Saturday.  So enjoy these timely updates while you have them!
