How cold do you think N. Y. is in the winter? Do you think the Big Ten will just pack it bags and go home if Maryland backs out, don't kid your self they will go after another ACC team, there are rumors that FSU have put feelers out about the Big Ten. You can go back to the Big East South because that's what it is becoming. Oh on other point what sport teams are you willing to cut if you don't join the Big Ten?

I can see where our new Buckeye frenemy lost points on the SAT: Analogies. Of course Nebraska was psyched to leave the Big 12, they were felt they were getting hosed by Texas and OU, so the fan base was thrilled to leave the conference and leave it in a weaker state. Plus it made sense geographically. Not sure what the Big10 gained from that txn, but all sides were happy. If Big10 fans can't appreciate why UMD fans and alumni aren't falling all over ourselves in euphoria over how this all went down, they are clueless. Yes, we are fortunate to be in a more stable environment for the next round of eventual conference musical chairs. But as has been outlined here and elsewhere, we are unfortunately most likely responsible for the next round of conference looting, and the process was anything but democratic. No doubt this is a virtue lost on those who perceive their conference to be the king of conferences.

This is between our out of touch administration and the fan base. This has nothing to do with the Big 10, if it were any other conference there would be the exact same backlash!

The point is we have nothing in common with the Midwest, for better or worse that is just the way it is. We want our ACC Basketball, we want Duke/Carolina, we want our road trips to VT, our traditions, it has nothing to do with you, your school, or conference.

If the ACC was falling apart and we needed a safe place to land, not one person would bitch about any of this. I think you are missing the point. I'll say it over and over again, we had no say in this knee jerk reaction and the more people I talk to at Thanksgiving and what not, every is saying the same thing. They hate it.

I mean come on, if a University President from Colorado came into OSU and said, he guess what, you can kiss the OSU-Michigan rivalary good bye, how would you feel? It's what we grew up with, it's all we've known. It sucks.

But it is nothing against the Big 10, it's a Maryland issue.

I can not believe the crybaby whiney butt Maryland fans. You thought you had problems winning in the ACC-hah. Maryland would not even win in the MAC. The Big Ten should have extended a welcoming hand to deserving successful programs like Toledo, BGSU, Kent St. or any other MAC team for that matter before taking on a losing debt machine like Maryland. At first I thought we would be cool like Nebraska when they came into the Big 10 last year. They were ecstatic. They left their rivalries and their conference(which is two tiers above the ACC) because they were not given the respect and the love. The Big 10 is wanting to give Maryland the love it deserves and instead is met with fan resistance and resentment. Keep crying and we will keep winning. So much for Maryland gaining me as a fan which I was ready to embrace and travel and spend my money on your program but not now. I am going to sit back a hope that you get stomped by every Big Ten team for the next 5 decades or until you go crying back to your ACC and its rivalries.
