Today is Decision Day for Harrison Twins

Well the day is upon us.  The day that could perhaps be a game changer for the Maryland Basketball program.  If Aaron and Andrew Harrison choose the Terps over Kentucky, it could be the start of something big for us Terp fans.  They are both ranked in the top 10 in 2013′s rankings by all major scouting services.  From everything I have ever read or saw, they will make an impact the day they step on campus.

Now, before we start getting too excited here, there is that big blue machine in Lexington that could have something to say about it. And quite honestly, would anyone be surprised if they did indeed wind up hanging out with Ashley Judd?  Me either.

Either way though, it has been since, maybe Moses Malone that the Terps have been involved with someone who could make a huge impact this late in the game.  Sure the Terps have had their share of great players, but none of them have had this sort of bravado before they stepped on to campus.  Most of our stars developed or burst onto the scene in College Park.

Win or lose, Mark Turgeon and his staff deserve a tremendous amount of credit for pursuing these guys from the start and through the entire process.  Even if they don’t sign with Maryland, the fact that they are considering the Terps this late shows me that people are starting to notice the type of program Turgeon is trying to build.

So tune in later today at 5:00 eastern to see the twins make their decision on ESPNU.  Either way, I hope this isn’t one of those ridiculous dog and pony shows.  Make your decision, put on your hats and answer a few questions about why you chose the school you chose.  None of that hat flipping nonsense!  Also, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention SMU may still be in the mix, but it is believed by everyone that this is a two horse race between our Terps and Kentucky.  Here’s to hoping.

I was optimistic until then they made the announcement, then I sort of felt dumb for even thinking we had a chance. Oh well, back reality and dreaming of being a bubble team.

As I always say, if you aren’t with us, you are against us.
