Diggs and Drakeford Win Conference Honors
I don’t think anyone will be surprised by this, but Stefon Diggs won the ACC Specialist of the week. His 100+ yard kickoff return was a huge part in Maryland’s win over UVA. For good measure he finished with 239 all purpose yards.
Not to be outdone, Darin Drakeford was awarded the Linebacker top spot. His 7 tackles, 5 of which were unassisted was just the start. He also recorded 2 sacks, 1 more tackle for a loss and forced a fumble. Just another solid day for Drakeford.
Though the team win is the most important thing, it is always nice to show recruits that players at Maryland still get noticed by the conference. Let’s hope there are many more to come.
