Diggs Named Rookie of the Week and Wake Game Time Announced
Monday is usually a busy day for fans of the ACC. It is the day the conference announces its players of the week and also the day the game times are announced for two weeks down the road. Now as a Maryland fan recently, there hasn’t been to many opportunities to have players receive honors, but with two freshman playing prominent rolls, there is a pretty good chance one of them will be in the mix each week.
This week Stefon Diggs gets the nod over teammate Perry Hills. Diggs had 3 catches for 113 yards and two touchdowns, both of which were what I would consider highlight reel types of plays. He also went over 200 yards in all purpose yardage for the second straight week. It just says one thing to me. Get him the ball more! He needs touches. Period, end of story.
As the title of this post mentions, the game time for the home contest with Wake Forest was announced today, and it will be a 3:30 kickoff on ESPNU. I was kind of stunned to see that, but upon further review of the schedule, two ACC teams were having games televised on stations outside of the ACC TV contract. Duke gets Army on CBS College Sports, and Miami is playing Notre Dame on NBC. So those two games left a couple of other slots open for Maryland and Wake game. Either way I will take it. I was getting tired of getting up the same time to tailgate as I do to go to work. Also looking forward to having lunch at our tailgate as opposed to breakfast!
