Terps Depth Chart Reactions
It’s game week! Hard to believe but College Football is here! Yeah. Anyway, for us Terps fan, this week may be the biggest one of the year, as it represents our best chance at winning (wait weren’t we just a 9 win team two years ago??). Any who, today the news out of College Park is the depth chart. If you are looking for headlines, Freshman Phenom Stefon Diggs is getting the nod at Punt and Kick returns. From the news out of camp, this is about as news breaking as a sunrise. There was no secret that Randy Edsall wanted to get him on the field and contributing right away. In fact if the coin toss goes a certain way, he could perhaps be the first to contribute for the entire year.
What IS surprising to me is that Justus Pickett is not the starting tailback. After all the touches he had last year, I guess I assumed he would be the starter, not so fast. True freshman Brandon Moss will be getting the nod. This won’t mean Pickett won’t get his touches, but still, this took me by surprise.
Another shock, is Nick Ferrera won’t be doing the kicking. No idea why, he isn’t listed at all, so I’m guessing that is another way of saying he is hurt. As for who is kicking, well the Baltimore Sun has Australian Brad Craddock doing the place kicking for the Terps. While Testudo Times is reporting Michael Tart. So who knows, not that I’m losing any sleep over seeing who wins that battle.
And finally the last note from the depth chart. Another True Freshman, Sean Davis will be starting for Matt Robinson at Strong Safety, though Robinson is expected back for the Temple game.
So there you have it, boy are we young. But who knows, maybe we will be young and exciting, or maybe we will be young and a train wreck, but hopefully all this experience will pay off down the line as we work our way back to respectability, I just don’t see us there yet, but heck I’ve been wrong before.
Regardless College Football is back, and boy does it feel good.

I’m glad Pickett isn’t starting. He is about as effective as a spoon for a snow shovel. Yeah, he might get the job done but there are better tools on the roster. Sorry Bob. You can still wear your Pickett Pride Jersey to the game.
