Terps Prepare for Life after O’Brien
As much as the Terps Football team seemed on cloud nine after the Diggs commitment, things are back to being a mess, as Danny O’Brien, Max Garcia, and Mario Rowson all announce they will be transferring from Maryland.
There are two ways to handle this news, cry “Woe is me?” until the pain passes, or pick up the pieces and move on. Quite frankly I’m tired of cursing the Football team and more importantly Randy Edsall, so I’m saying let’s pick up the pieces and move on. Danny is obviously a huge loss, and symbolically a devastating loss, but CJ Brown is still here. Last I saw he was capable of moving the offense up and down the field.
Granted, Danny O was made for a different offense, the offense we should be getting back into, and that is what disturbs me the most about him not remaining, but things still look bright.
Though it is risky to make statements like this, I think we can finally say the purging has ended. Whoever is leaving is gone, whoever is here will remain here. Let’s move on and focus on Spring Practice. Remember Danny would be limited this spring CJ Brown is not. That means our QB will have all spring and summer to become accustomed to the new offense (and to work on his accuracy).
So cry if you want, but I’m ready to move forward. I love Maryland Football too much to keep bashing it, so best wishes to Danny O’Brien, and here’s to CJ Brown. Now the only issue we fans need to face is how much longer till fall.

I just hope Diggs didn’t use some sort of invisible ink or trick pen on his LOI! The thing that burns me the most about this all, is O’Brien was the one who rallied around Edsall when he came in. Yet as soon as O’Brien struggled, Edsall dumped him to the curb. Just a little glimpse (in my mind anyway) of Edsall’s true colors.

Here’s to hoping fall doesn’t come too soon. The staff and players will need every minute between now and fall to get on the same page. I hope the staff will be able to maximize our guys talent this year (as opposed to what we saw last year). Our successful recruiting class could be a 2-edged sword for the program if the coaches can’t consistently put our guys in a position to find the endzone throughout 2012.
The loss of DOB will hurt, but I understand the position he’s in. I thank him for what he’s given to the program over the past two years (especially for being a class act in the face of so much adversity last year), and wish him well in his departure.

Garcia any good? He’s transferring to be closer to home (GA) and UGA needs OL.
Who is the back up QB now?

Garcia was a starter. You can take that for what it’s worth. Probably will hurt Maryland more than in would help UGA. He was solid though.

Back up QB will be one of two true freshmen. If CJ gets hurt the Terps won’t win many games. Might not win many games with him either. Terps two starting tackles have transfered. In total 12 players have left since the end of the season. 24 players have left since Edsall was hired. Do you know how many Penn State players have transfered or simply left the school after the Sandusky debacle? Exactly ZERO. Edsall just doesn’t seem to get it. He makes stupid comments about his transfers like they were home sick or they aren’t committed. Why not just say good luck and be done with it? He really needs a public relations team to speak for him. I almost root for the team to lose all their games next year so that he will be fired. I’m not but I’ve thought about it. If we didn’t have Diggs and Brown coming in, there would really be no hope for this program.

Is it true that Edsall may prohibit, and is prohibiting, DOB from going to Vandy? I hope not because that’s so wrong it makes me sick.

Well, UGA is interested in Garcia. And yes rin, they are prohibiting transfers from going to Vandy, Garcia included:
