The Exodus Continues: DJ Adams Granted Release

Can’t say we didn’t see this coming. But it doesn’t make things any easier. DJ Adams today was granted his release from the University of Maryland to go pursue his College Football career elsewhere. Adams joins sophmore Defensive End David Mackall who will also be leaving the program.

DJ was coming off a successful freshman season in which he scored 11 TDs, but had limited touches under Randy Edsall. I think DJ Adams will mostly be missed for being the subject of countless tailgating conversations where we try to imagine the unthinkable crime he must have committed in order to fall this far off the depth chart. Per the Baltimore Sun article with his dad, it could stem to him showing up at camp with blonde hair. Nothing would shock me at this point as we continue to watch our beloved program fall apart.

Am I a little over selling my true feelings? Perhaps, but I just feel helpless, and this is coming from a guy who boasts to his friends every March 30th that this will be the year the Orioles get back into the post season. I mean I am optimistic by nature, but I’m completely down in the dumps now.

To further the sorrow, Mike Leach took the Washington State gig today, so much for that out. Granted not everyone loved the idea of Leach, but I think he would have been a good fit that would of had Danny O’Brien putting up monster numbers. Of course we will now never know. The good news is that when CollegeFootballNews.com tweeted the news, the headline said something jokingly that there was two years left until he leaves Washington State for a better job. Flash forward two years and maybe we’ll have an AD with the guts to pull the trigger on this Edsall experiment.

Now we sit back and see which player is leaving next. Should be a fun offseason.

Three of my favorite Terps leaving the program. This is so depressing.

I was really looking forward to seeing Adams this past season. I thought he was going to be a nice compliment to Meggett, but I guess we will never know. At least not in a Terps (nameless) jersey. You would think the more time passes since that loss, I would be better able to accept that he is our coach, but I think I am getting more angry about it. I truly think that is the word. I’m not sure why I feel like this. For those of you who saw the movie Kingpin, instead of getting “Munsoned” we are getting “Edsalled”.

I just listened to Turgeon on the 106.7 and he is so refreshing compared to Edsall. Maybe Turgeon could coach the football team too.

Could it be any worse? I guess we could have lost to Miami. But I think we beat towson under Turge
