Robert Anae Resigns From BYU. Is He Coming To CP With Leach?

Friday, December 31st, 2010

BYU Offensive coordinator Robert Anae has resigned from his position.  There are rumors flying around that he was forced out by coach Bronco Mendenhall.  Other reports state he is leaving to  pursue other opportunities.  Anae was the offensive line coach for Mike Leach at Texas Tech from 2000 to 2004.  I don’t know if this [...]

Leach Interviews With Maryland

Friday, December 31st, 2010

Less than 24 hours after Ralph Friedgen’s final win, the University of Maryland had his potential replacement on campus to interview for the position.  Mike Leach met with Kevin Anderson, Dr. Loh, and the search committee.  According to both the Sun and Post, no offer has been made as of yet.  Anderson has stated he [...]

Terps Send Friedgen Off With A Big Win

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

Maryland made the most of a tough stretch for Coach Friedgen.  First, they were relegated to the Military Bowl.  Not that the bowl is all that bad, but for a team that finished tied for third in the ACC, falling to the bowl with the eighth pick in the bowl pecking order is not the [...]

Terps Rowl in Military Bowl

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

No that isn’t a typo, just a bad attempt at humor.  Well the Military Bowl is over, and it pretty much ended up as we expected.  Heck it ended up the way we had hoped!  The only surprise was the Da’rel Scott MVP.  He totally won it, but coming in I would of had money [...]

Torrey Smith to NFL

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

Only have time to do a short post this AM.  There is a lot to talk about, but unfortunately that will have to wait.  The news that some may not be aware of this morning is that Torrey Smith will forego his last year of eligibility and enter the NFL draft. This is obviously sad [...]

Turtledroppings.com Bowl Pick’em Update #2

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

It’s Military Bowl Eve, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring…expect for me doing the updates for the Bowl Pick’em Contest.  Still early, but two front runners are emerging, and a couple of us are starting to get further and further behind.  Of course here is where the game goes from a [...]

Weather Forecast for Military Bowl

Sunday, December 26th, 2010

Well here we sit in the middle of a busted winter storm.  What looked so promising as I went to bed, is nothing but glorified flurries today.  Of course if you are reading this on the Eastern Shore (and I am not tonight), you are probably wondering what I’m talking about since they are getting [...]

Donovan Will Be OC For Bowl Game

Friday, December 24th, 2010

Ralph Friedgen has stated former running backs coach John Donovan will perform the offensive coordinator duties for the Military Bowl.  Kind of seems like a win win for Vanderbilt.  Their new OC gets to test his skills out for Maryland before starting at Vanderbilt next season under James Franklin.

Turtledroppings.com Bowl Pick’em Update #1

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

When we started this contest, it was because traditionally there isn’t all that much news to report this time of year, as Basketball is gearing up for “Cup Cake Row” and well last year the Football team was doing anything but Bowling.  Now flashforward to December 2010 and we are as busy as can be.  [...]
