Looking Ahead To Maryland and Navy Game

Time is running short.  While Hurricane Earl is not going to impact the game, it has impacted my travel plans.  We had planned on going down to spend some time in Annapolis with my wife’s family tomorrow morning, however our flight out of Logan was canceled, and now we aren’t leaving until tomorrow afternoon.  Kind of minor, but an inconvenience non the less.  What is really means, is that I will not be having breakfast at Chick and Ruth’s Deli tomorrow morning and that in itself is a major downer!

Like I said Earl, is not going to have an impact on the Maryland and Navy Football game on Monday.  However, it is becoming more and more likely Travis is.  Travis Baltz that is.  Sophomore kicker Nick Ferrera has struggled all spring, and is suffering from a groin injury.  Though he is listed as a game time decision, he is likely to be replaced by punter Travis Baltz.  Sounds a lot like last year doesn’t it?  Only the roles were reversed.  All indication is that Baltz is up to the challenge, and has been pretty consistent from the low to mid 40′s.  Here’s to hoping Nick won’t have a nagging season long injury if he does indeed have to sit out the Navy game.

In other injury news, it seems a little bit better, as Cameron Chism is looking more and more likely to play against Navy.  He has been out the last two weeks or so with a hamstring injury.  This is big news as Chism really seemed to get better as the season went along last year.

With the season kickoff only days away, and Hurricane Earl scheduled to be through Boston by Saturday morning, I am really starting to get excited for the start of the season.  I just hope this better than average summer last a little longer here in Boston!
