Time for Three
The start time of the first three Maryland Football games have been released. The Terps will face Navy at 4:00 pm (which is a very convenient 10:00 am tailgate start time) at M and T Stadium. Hopefully this year they will have more Port-a-Potties in the parking lot than they did in 2005.
The second game, against Morgan (I wonder when the last time we opened the year against two in State Schools was, if I had to bet, I’d guess Curly Byrd was either a player or a coach) will be at a very generous 6pm. Look having to play Morgan is bad enough, but making us sit through the searing early autumn heat while we watch is just plain wrong. Thanks for putting this one under the lights Debbie.
The third game is against WVU at noon. This is good. As anyone who has ever drank a beer with me on game day knows, I have a theory that when you play on the road against a top team, you want to play as early in the day as possible (Think of every game we’ve won in Death Valley). When you are playing a top ranked team at home you want to play as late as possible so that the fans can get fired up. Most WVU students are still going to be hung over by noon on Saturday, if I know anything about WVU, so I’m pretty happy with the noon start.
So there you have it. Hard to believe we are talking TV times already, but as we enter June, the start of Fall Camp really isn’t that far off. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that I can’t hardly wait.
