The Grizzlies selected Greivis Vasquez with the #28 pick.  He was the third of the Memphis’ three first round picks.  With the their other two picks the selected two other guards in Xavier Henry of Kansas and Dominique Jones of South Florida.  Who knows what that means for playing time or a potential trade, but congrats to Greivis!

To know what this kid is all about, all you had to do was watch his reaction with his family when they selected him.  On top of that, a handshake wasn’t good enough for Commissioner Stern.  A huge bear hug was in order.

I will see how the rest of the night shakes out before really looking at what his impact might be.  For tonight, Greivis, and all Maryland fans should be happy.  I know I couldn’t be happier.  The best part is all along Greivis said some people will be stunned where he is selected, and you know what, not a single mock draft gave him the credit he deserved.  Good luck Greivis, and if any Grizz fans are reading, you got a player that will give you everything he has.
