Spring Practice Winding Down

The Terps are down to a final practice before Saturday’s Red White Game at Byrd Stadium.  It seems things have gone about as expected for the Terps, and a lot of players have gotten some much needed experience.

First on the quarterback front it appears Jamar Robinson will be the starter.  In the few quotes I have seen this year, it appears Friedgen has been happy with Jamar’s progress.  Couple that with the quotes from James Franklin about being excited to have a more mobile QB, and maybe there is some hope for optimism.  All spring long I was expecting Fridge to say something along the lines of we have two quarterbacks who bring different skills to the table, but to this point things seem to be going as I expected.  It appears Danny O’Brien has himself entrenched as the backup based on his knowledge of the offense to this point.

Of course protecting the quarterback, is going to go a long way in determining if the Terps are going to have any success on the field this year.  So far it seems the line, even with limited depth, has made some improvements.  For a really good break down of the offensive line, check out this post by Patrick Stevens of D1scourse, in an interview with Tom Brattan.  Again there is a little hope.  Of course with the limited depth, it could be very ugly, if these players don’t all continue to improve.

Be sure to check back after the weekend for a look back at the Spring Game.
