Quick Spring Football Update
Well, if you look at a certain readers response to the start of spring practice post, you will notice our pal JH said it was very important for Maryland to escape without any injuries. Wouldn’t you know it, after the first week of practices, a likely starter is out. Taylor Watson, who was likely penciled in as the starter at full back now that Cory Jackson is gone, is out until at least September with a torn ACL on his right need. The killer is he was a very capable blocker, and of course we know the Terps could use anyone who can block. Look for Haroon Brown to take over the first team snaps during spring ball. So there you have our real bit of news out of spring practice, and it hasn’t been great news. Check back for more on the season. If I had to pick one starter to get injured it might be the fullback. I’m sure they will find a capable replacement. I just don’t get why so many guys have knee injuries these days. I would assume it’s because they are so much bigger and stronger than young football players were 30 years ago.
