Despite ACC Loss, Terps Earn 4 Seed
Even though Maryland lost their first round game in the ACC tournament to Georgia Tech, the Terps get the 4 seed out in the Midwest, and will play Friday vs Houston. If the first round goes as planned, the Terps would then face Michigan St. (5 seed) in the second round. Should they win that game they would likely face overall #1 Kansas. Unfortunately I have to run, but look for more on this later.

A little surprised the Terps got as high as a four seed. The committee had some strange seeding this year. Looks like the Committee didn’t use the RPI that much.
Notre Dame as a 6 seed was absolutely shocking. A little surprised Florida got in over Va. Tech or Miss State.

VT fans have got to be stunned. MD has a long trip out west but I’m ok with the matchup against Phi Slama Jama. At least they will play later in the day on Friday. Didn’t they win it all in 2002 by starting out west?

After the one and done in the ACC Tourney, I thought they were destined for a five seed. I thought VT was in on the merits of the conference record, BUT the non conference strength of schedule may have been lower than Oak Hills!
I saw a blind comparison earlier today, and was shocked to see Florida’s numbers. I forget who else they were compared with, but they looked pretty good. Notre Dame, the only thing I can think of is the committee gave them some extra credit for winning without Harangody. Little spoiler here, but stay tuned for a bracket pick em contest.
