Moving on to UVA (Quickly)

You know, in hindsight I am glad the Terps have little time to dwell on the beat down they took at Duke over the weekend.  Coming back to the friendly confines of Comcast Center on two days after the Duke loss, will be a blessing and not a curse.  Sure UVA is in the same shoes as well.  They played at VT on Saturday night (a game they lost).  In fact UVA has lost two in a row, but they have been each game.

They key for the Terps will be containing Sylvan Landesburg.  He has been the key for UVA and new head coach Tony Bennett.  Landesburg is a big guard that can give Maryland some trouble.  He is averaging 18.0 points per game, and 5.2 boards to go along with 3 assists.

Mike Scott is also a threat that has burned the Terps before.  He is averaging 13 points and 7 boards a game.  Scott can hit jumpers, but his game is more geared to the inside game.

As a team UVA is hitting 37% of the three’s and 44% overall.  From the line they are converting 77% of their shots.

For the Terps, the key will be to forget the last game.  At home they are a different team, and they need to feed off the crowd.  While, I say they need to forget the last game, they need to actually improve on some things from that game.  Rebounding, is always going to be a key for any game.  It was exposed on Saturday by Zoubek of all people.

Also, look for Landon Milbourne and Eric Hayes to get back on track.  Vasquez can not do it by himself!

Vasquez cannot do it by himself. Milbourne and Hayes played terribly but Vasquez needs to score more than 2 points in the first half.

Maybe he can do it by himself? 25 at the half and only 13 shots. Pretty good ratio if you ask me.
