Cabin Fever
As the great Ralph Wiggum once said “Sooooo….do you like…stuff?”. That’s pretty much how I feel. Running this website has been a constant fight (at least between August and April) to find the time to put out everything you want to say. Now I find myself in a situation where I have all the time in the world, and NOTHING to write! I think Alanis Morrisette would have something to say about that.
Anyway, I went 16 years between my last two snow days during my last streak. The next streak was much more modest only lasting a day. I haven’t gotten word yet, but I think the I will be off tomorrow as well since the sun is all but set, and I still can’t see the woods across the cornfield which by my guess is about 1/4 mile away. Translation, it’s snowing pretty darn hard. (FYI I got the call as I was re-reading this, I’m off again tomorrow!).
Of course we all know that the Md-UVA game is cancelled tonight, which sucks because I’m desperate to watch something that wasn’t produced by Nickelodeon. But there will be some action tonight which will affect us someway or another. The big one of course being Duke-UNC. Some years this is a tough call and you can only wish they would somehow both lose, but not this year. Tonight we will ALL be wearing Carolina Blue, maybe not literally, but in our hearts as we desperately need the Heels to show some signs of life.
Another key match up will be Florida State vs. Clemson. I don’t know who we need to win this one, FSU is higher up in the standings, but we do have the tie breaker with them, so they aren’t as much of a threat to us as Clemson is, since we DON’T have the tie breaker against them.
Georgia Tech will travel to Miami tonight. In this one we will be pulling for the Hurricanes as the Canes are pretty much an after thought at this point, but GT could in theory still make a run. If GT were to lose they would fall to 5-5 which would put them in the hunt for something other than the Regular Season ACC Title.
Finally we have VT-NC State. I can’t speak for all, but I’ll be pulling for the Wolfpack in this match up. The Pack already has 7 ACC losses and VT is 5-3. I’d feel much better if VT was 5-4! So go Pack.
So that is about it. I can’t really say anything else at the moment. Just bidding my time until 1:00 pm on Saturday. Hopefully everyone is staying safe and enjoying the unexpected time off from work, except for those of you who have gone to work. Of course, even for those working I can’t imagine it is terribly stressful all things considered. Except for Chris of course who is probably plowing snow somewhere cussing like a sailor.
