What to do without Jin Soo

The Baltimore Sun is reporting that Jin Soo Choi is leaving the University of Maryland to pursue his career back in his native South Korea.  Choi was the first Korean born player to be awarded a scholarship in Division I basketball which means, and I’m taking a leap of faith here, that he is also the first Korean to leave a Division I basketball team.  Unfortuntately this isn’t considered major news.  Choi who has been a fan favorite was really limited in his playing time at Maryland, and when on the court the contributions he made to the team were minimal.

Not to talk bad about the guy, he seemed nice enough, and we wish him the best, but I can’t say this news was really “shocking”, in fact looking back in hindsight I’m surprised I didn’t see it coming.  Either way good luck in your future endevours Jin Soo Choi.  I’m sure adjusting to a new country and college life all at the same time was not easy.  Heck it was tough enough adjusting to College Park from Elkton, MD, I can’t imagine being that age and deciding to head to a foreign country.  Hopefully you can revive your career closer to your friends and family.

Well, I am sure some day he will be the star of the South Korean National Team and will single handedly defeat the US in the Olympics or something. Good luck Jin Soo!

Great, where are going to find another guy who can miss wide open jumpers?

The Jin Soo experiment is over…..I don’t think Goins will be around much longer either.

We need another big, slow white guy, with terrible hands.
