VD in the Olympic Games
When I first heard the news I was about 20% sure I heard it right. But thanks to Google, it turns out the comment I heard on the radio was indeed correct. Former Terp and current 49′er TE Vernon Davis has been named the honorary Captain of the US Curling Team! (VD in the Olympics) Now what exactly the job “Honorary Captain” entails is anyone guess, but it appears from the article that he will get to go to Vancouver for the games next month, and afterall isn’t that the most important part.
Apparently he has taken an interest in Curling and for the US to generate some buzz for the sport and excitement for the Olympics, they have given him the position. Now of course we won’t actually see him curling (at least not this year), but it is still pretty cool. Congratulations to VD, it appears 2010 is being as kind to him as 2009 was.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if there was the other VD as well at the Olympics. I read somewhere that he was going to be at a couple of the events, and was going to be the official spokesperson for the USA Curling. The 49′ers marketing department did some sort of an advertisement of him talking about curling and trying to increase it’s popularity. I think it is good for him to get some positive press off the field. He hasn’t exactly endeared himself to the public until recently.
Speaking of curling, what is the chance that there is a rink near Annapolis that we could add curling to our list of events we have around the fantasy baseball weekend?

Facebook? Whatever happened to D7tailgate.com? Just dust in the wind now I guess. I consider myself a loyal reader and I didn’t know about it.

I don’t do spacebook or myface. I was kind of hoping once you had enough readers we could take it to print. I’m holding out for the day I can wake up and Turtledroppings Daily is waiting for me (in color) on my front porch (or apt door). I guess I’ll have to schedule daily conference calls too to air comments, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

As long as we have flip cup results, D7tailgate will be just fine.
