Terps Roll Through Beantown
How much fun was last Saturday? It was one of the few times in the season where I got to watch the game with a bunch of other Maryland fans/friends and I had a blast. Looking back in hind sight, I remember more about swapping stories of our college days and out of hand tailgates than I did about watching the basketball game, and it was great.
There was that brief 8-0 run BC made at the end of the half that did re-direct our focus back to the TV, but other than that, it felt like an early December match up were no one was really that worried. Yet at the same time this was an ACC road game! When is the last time we won an ACC road game where there wasn’t pacing or hand wringing involved by us fans? They don’t come along much.
Sure I was down in the dumps when we lost to William and Mary, but the team I watched this week, looked nothing like that version. They were sharp, they fought hard, and they most definitely looked like they belong in the top 1/3 of the ACC. The BC win featured 4 guys reaching double digits in scoring, obviously Greivis was one with 17 (now 8th on the all time list on your right), but also 15 from Adrian Bowie, 14 from Cliff Tucker, and 13 from Landon Milbourne. It was a total team effort. It was also an effort that leaves me feeling as though I can’t wait until the next game.
If we get to see this kind of effort that we have seen over the last 7 days extended through the rest of the season, we should be in for some exciting basketball. Though we did allow the Wake Forest game to slip away, both games featured the kind of efforts I want to see day in and day out, and with Longwood and NC State coming up this week, if we can duplicate that effort there is no reason why we can’t be 3-1 in Conference a week from now.
Extra Droppings:
Does anyone else find it funny that the soon to be former Mayor of Baltimore has a last name of Dixon, and the incoming Mayor has a last name of Blake? I don’t know how you would calculate odds on something like that, but I think it is pretty good proof that the city of Baltimore loves the Terps!!

I think you meant the WMU game instead of JMU. I’m still recovering from Saturday.

Ah yes William and Mary. I think I have gotten JMU and W & M mixed up several times this year. Why is that?

It took me a full 24hrs to get the horrible taste of lime out of my mouth. I wish I could run it back (and host) this Saturday but unfortunately I already have other plans. Bummer but my liver is thrilled.
