A Contest Update before the W&M Game

It’s about to get exciting. Though this contest has been going on for over 10 days now, it is really just about to begin. Starting tomorrow we have 15 games in the next 3 days. A lot can and will happen, and it needs to because no one seems to want to stand up and say “Move out of the way, I’m taking this thing over.”. In fact we all seem to be getting in each others way like some sort of drunk three legged race.

Today features the Humanitarian Bowl (Idaho v. Bowling Green) and the Holiday Bowl (Arizona v. Nebraska). The Humanitarian Bowl is actually going on as I speak, but I haven’t checked in on it yet. These games are both going to hopefully create a little more seperation in the standings. For the first one 10 of us have Idaho and 6 have Bowling Green (those 6 are JAdams2017, JD Leavitt, Jonny Utah, Lebron James, VT Fan, and AK).

For the Holiday Bowl, it is split 50/50. Those who picked Nebraska are RIW3, JD Leavitt, CWB, Jhannold, Jonny Utah, JJH, VT Fan, and Rwimbrow. The rest have…you guessed it, Arizona. So basically this is the calm before the storm. A couple games for everyone to jockey themselves into position for the great dash that is about to occur. With that, here are the standings:

RIW 3 8 (Hmm how did I come up with this tie breaking system?)

JD Leavitt 8 (6 game streak finally snapped)

Tevin 8 (5 game streak alive and well)

Clemson Girl 8 (Clemson Grads have combined to go 10-0 over last 5 bowls!)

JJH 8 (Also has a 5 game streak…jeez!)

Rwimbrow 8 (modest 4 game streak snapped by Wisconsin)

CWB 7 (see Rwimbrow’s comment)

Rich Adams 6 (has hit on 4 of last 5)

Jhannold 5 (has also hit on 4 of his last 5)

Lebron James 5 (2 wins in last 8 games…uh oh!)

Great Ape 5 (Can’t seem to put a streak together)

VT Fan 5 (Heading in right direction with 4 of last 5 correct)

JAdams2017 4 (Over last 8 games has been hitting .500)

Jonny Utah 4 (3 of last 4 won)

AK 4 (Still the most dangerous 4 win contestant out there!)

Isabelle 3 (just can’t get going)

So there you have it, who will emerge? Who will regress? Who will take the grand prize? I don’t know, but by Jan 3 we will probably have an idea of who won’t!

Extra Droppings:

Watching that UCLA-Temple game yesterday, does anyone else have a soft spot in their heart for Jim Neuheisel? Maybe it’s just me, but the fact that he got fired because he won his NCAA bracket while having Maryland picked to win it all, has always made me kind of like him. I guess it is because everytime I see him on TV I think of Juan Dixon heaving the ball into the Georgia Dome sky.
