Knocking on The Door
You may think I am thinking about the little trick-or-treaters that will soon be knocking on the door asking for MY Reese’s Cups, but actually I am referring to the Maryland Basketball team. In both the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, and the AP Poll the Terps are the first team listed in “Others Receiving Votes”. So with that they are ranked #26 to start the season. At this point of the year, I don’t really think it matters being ranked 20 or in the others receiving votes.
Where I do think it is advantage, is it gives Gary Williams a reason to have a chip on his shoulder. You know he will be ready to show everyone his program is back and to be reckoned with again.
One other note regarding the Terps Basketball team is, Patrick Stevens reported Steve Goins sat out today’s scrimmage with a knee injury. It appears to be related to the knee surgery he had in August. Happy Halloween!
