Gone, Baby Gone

And that’s the good news.  I am getting ready to board a plane to St. Louis for work.  It could not come at a better time.  While the bad news from this weekend is getting shoved down our throat for the next few days, I’ll be on the otherside of the Mississippi, safely tucked away in a hotel.  The ostrich with his head in the sand, that will be me.

There can be a lot written about this game, and I’m sure there will be, but all you have to say is 5 turnovers and 10 penalties.  It is that simple.  We are not that good of a team, and when you turn the ball over 5 times you are not going to be beating a lot of teams.  Now 5 turnovers with 4 take aways, yes, you can weather that storm and still win, but to lose the turnover battle 5-0 is just inexcusable.

I guess we can hope that the turnovers will even out over the course of the season, and if that is indeed the case we’ll have a lot of balls bouncing our way in the next couple of months.  But if this is indeed a problem we are going to be living with, well an already long season is about to get a lot longer.  Luckily for me I’ll be away from this mess for the next couple of days.  Unfortunately I’ll eventually have to come back.

Ugh, It official. We stink. I’m still going to be optimistic. Maybe we can play the spoiler roll later in the season. At least we still have the tailgates.
