Notes From Terps First Football Practice

After scouring all three local newspapers, and Heather Dinich’s Blog on ESPN, it appears Patrick Stevens and his Washington Times Blog has the most, and best info on practice day one for Maryland Football.  Here are some highlights I read around the web today.

  • Coach Friedgen and Don Brown are experimenting with moving Jared Harrell and Masengo Kabongo.  Kabongo will go to DE and Harrell to the Anchor (over TE) position.  Similar to the LEO in the 3-4.
  • Friedgen also wants to move Cody Blue to the offensive line because of his size.   He thinks he can play at the next level on the O-line.
  • Torrey Smith and Richard Taylor were suffering from cramps in the intense heat.
  • Friedgen was pleased with the play of both Terps true freshman quarterbacks (Danny O’Brien and C.J. Brown).
  • Friedgen is impressed with Caleb Porzel, and has him fielding punts.  Also excited to see how he and D.J. Adams can do in the upcoming scrimmage this Saturday.
  • Adrian Cannon continues to make outstanding catches, and was very impressive in the 7 on 7 drills.

So there you have some news from day one.  Again, we will try and scour all the available Terps media outlets for news from practice, and let you in on the highlights.
