Meet The Newbies: Nick Klemm

Sometimes on signing day you get an unexpected loss.  Rarely (at Maryland) do you get an unexpected gain.  Nick Klemm fits that mold.  He originally verballed to Boston College, but with the firing of Jeff Jagodzinksi he decided to make a change.  WIth that the Terps get a little more depth at offensive line, and we all know you can never have enough line depth.  Though he is only rated 2 stars by both Scout.com and Rivals.com, having extra lineman will never hurt.

Klemm comes to the Terps measuring 6′-7″ and 280 lbs.  He attended Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia.  His coach credits his tremendous work ethic, even though his team finished 0-10.  He did manage to make the Cobb County Senior Bowl, despite the poor season of Wheeler.

Though Klemm was born in Georgia, everyone else in his family still lives in Wisconsin, and he is a huge Green Bay Packers fan.  Nick was born on April fools day in 1991.  The biggest news I can come up with is Comedy Central is launched.  Ahh, my suspicion was correct.  April 1, was also the day Duke defeated Kansas for the National Title.  This came two days after knocking off an undefeated UNLV team.  At the time, I don’t think I realized the impact that would have on the rest of my life.  Oh, and just in case you were wondering, the Grateful Dead did have a concert at the Greensboro Coliseum (www.dead.net).

So there you have it.  A little bit about Nick Klemm, and a little piece of Americana for April 1, 1991.  Welcome to the Maryland Family Nick.  I understand hunting is a hobby.  Make sure you make friends with some of the boys from Western PA.
