Meet The Newbies: Dave Stinebaugh

As we write this the SEC football Media Day is taking place.  The good news is the ACC’s media day is right around the corner.  Shortly following that we will be into August practices.  But until that time we have to wrap up our meet the newbies, and today’s installment is Dave Stinebaugh.

Dave will be joining the Terps from Perry Hall HS.  He is a 6’4 220 lb TE who is rated as a 3 star and #64 overall Athlete by Rivals, and 3 star #56 TE by Scouts.  His senior season included 45 catches for 632 yards and 9 TD’s.   He chose the Terps over UCONN and Wake Forest.  Some interesting notes on Dave:  His favorite Class is Chemistry.  Really, my advice to you Dave is to take it at summer school at a community college.  Just trust me.  I think the three people who write on this blog will tell you that there is nothing fun about Chemistry at the University of Maryland!  Secondly, he likes working on cars, and going to car shows.  Sounds like someone else I know.  And finally, he list his favorite TV show as friends.  Is TV so poor right now that these kids favorite shows are things that we watched when we were in school?

Now on to our favorite part: Birthdays!  Dave was born on February 21, 1991. Some key events of that date in history include: U.S.S.R. announces Iraq agrees to a proposal to end Persian Gulf War.. Great news right?  The U.S. calls the plan unacceptable.  Also on this day there was an Earthquake in the Bering Sea off the coast of Alaska.  One last factoid, the Grateful Dead performed Terrapin Station at the Oakland Coliseum on Dave’s birthday.

So with Dave, we welcome you to the Terps, and wish you luck with your Chem 103 classes.  From the looks of it you will be taking a lot more than Chem 103 if you want to be a Kinesiology major!

Chem 103 was ok. Chem 113, 231,232 and 461 were the killers. ( I think those numbers are correct. It’s been 9 years.)

  2. Chris B Says:

103 took a lot out of me. Hence taking Organic at MOCO CC.

  3. BW Says:

Take it at Mississippi State and you can have a lab where you find plastic bottles with different recycle codes on them.

  4. JH Says:

That lab sounds intense. Remember the breakage cards you had to buy? I’m glad I never broke a crucible or a titration apparatus. Those were expensive.
