Terps Football Adds Two More to Class of 2010
Maryland Football is adding players very quickly this Spring. Matt Bracken reported earlier that NJ DE Ian Evans committed last week. He is a 6′-3″ 230 pounder who plays for Hammonton HS, and was a Cape Atlantic League American Division All Star as a Junior. He also had interest from Syracuse and Vanderbilt. Evans made his decision to verbal to the Terps after his visit for the Spring Game.
Today the Terps picked up commitment number 6 for the 2010 class in Summerville (SC) HS junior Brice Lauglin. He is a 6′-3″ 280 defensive tackle, that according to scout.com, had his only offer from Maryland. He did miss a great deal of playing time in 2008 due to a hand injury, so he may be flying a bit under the radar. In his sophomore season while playing for Pinewood Prep, he recorded 67 tackles and 1 sack.
With the class now up to 6, you have to figure there may only be 10-12 more scholarships that will open up for the class of 2010. Is it time for Maryland to wait for some of the more heralded recruits to make a decision? Stay tuned for more Maryland recruiting news.
Extra Droplets
So many people talk about Gary Williams being old school, but apparently he is more hip than I, because he is now “tweeting” on Twitter, and I am not. Here is Gary’s page. Enjoy.
