Lance Stephenson Recruiting Drama Continues for Terps

Just when I thought it was safe to forget about this guy and let him go, Maryland pops back up in conversation of schools Lance Stephenson is considering.  According to Lance’s Dad, he is down to Maryland and Arizona.  Of course there is not going to be a decision any time soon as Lance is waiting until his day in court (June 29th) for his “sexual assualt” case.  It sounds if though there is going to be a plea, or perhaps the case may be dropped all together.

Honestly, I feel emotionally drained with this kid.  I have never followed a recruit more than Lance.  Maryland has never been in a situation where a player like Lance could make a huge impact in such a time of need.  Assuming Greivis Vasquez comes back, we would have waves of back court players, that are capable of 20+ point games.  Bowie has done it, Tucker has been there, Hayes, and Vasquez.  Throw in Mosley, and we will be pretty deep at the guard spots.  I don’t know where the minutes will come from to keep them all happy, but with that depth, and for the most part athleticism, we should really be able to press some teams.

For now though, it is all speculation.  Will Lance Stephenson commit to Maryland?  I still say not likely, but who really knows at this point.  Will Greivis be back?  I sure hope so.  Is there a chance both could happen?  Absolutely.  Until that day, I am sure this is going to be just one of many post with updates of Lance Stephenson’s college options, and Greivis Vasquez’s NBA quest.

I think if he really wanted to be in Maryland, he would have been here by now. I’m also worried that there are now 4 outcomes to this off season. We get Lance, lose Greivis, we get Grevis, lose Lance, We lose both, we get both. So chances are 3 out of 4 that I’m going to be bummed….yeah!

We will probably lose both. Lance is holding us hostage. Like Fridge always says, “You can only worry about the guys you have.”
