Lady’s Fall Short, Lose to UNC
Well the dream season for the 2009 Women’s Lacrosse team came to an end on Friday night, just shy of the Championship game in Towson’s Johnny Unitas Stadium. The Lady Terps fell to the Tarheels of UNC 8-7. The 7 goal total was a season low for the Terps. Though calling a 21-1 season a failure is a bit of a stretch, I’m sure the none of the woman are happy with how things shook out. If there is a silver lining to this it is the fact that all 12 of the Maryland starters will be back next year. That is pretty impressive, and not good news for the rest of the Woman’s Lacrosse teams in the ACC.
Congratulations to the lady’s, they may disagree congratulations are in order, but come on 21-1 with another ACC Championship is nothing to hang your head about.
Extra Droppings:
Last week a rocket was launched from Wallops Island Virginia (Near Chincoteague) into Space. The flight of the rocket was visible from as far a way as Eastern Kentucky, the Carolina’s and even Southern New England. I was lucky enough to see it, which was pretty cool. It basically looked like a plane flying straight up into the air, but instead of being straight as an arrow, like a plane would be, it seemed to have a sort of swirled flight path. Not really that news worthy, and it certainly doesn’t have much to do with our site, but still I thought it was pretty cool to see, and worthwhile to mention. I actually took a picture on my cell phone, but hit delete instead of save…oh well.
