Maryland Corner Back Kevin Barnes Selected By the Redskins
With the 16th pick of the 3rd round (80th overall), the Washington Redskins selected Maryland CB Kevin Barnes. Barnes will forever be remembered for his devastating hit on Cal running back Javid Best this past season at Byrd Stadium. The hit was so hard, as Best laid on the ground, the ESPN cameras caught Best vomiting on the ground. Barnes did only play 7 games for the Terps due to a shoulder injury, and missed out on the Senior Bowl. Despite the injury, Barnes recorded 2 interceptions, 20 tackles, 5 pass breakups, 7 plays defended, and of course, one player vomiting! Congratulations Kevin, and best of luck to you.

I’m glad I will get to see a lot of Barnes. He should help an aging secondary for the Skins.

Let’s be honest, no disrespect to Barnes, but the Skins need A LOT more help than that. How would you like to be Jason Campbell? Everytime another QB is mentioned, the Skins say they want him!
That being said I am very happy for Barnes.

He got a 41 on the Wonderlick. He should at least help to boost the team IQ.
