Maryland Center Braxton Dupree Transferring
All major local media outlets (turtledroppings.com included) are reporting Sophomore Center Braxton Dupree will be transferring. In 25 games with the Terps, Braxton averaged 2.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. He showed promise a couple of times, and then he would regress. Each season his minutes decreased as the season moved on. There has been no mention of where Braxton will land.
This leaves Maryland with Dino Gregory, often injured Jerome Burney, and little used Steve Goins as the only returning bigs. Incoming freshman Jordan Williams, and James Padgett, will be counted on to provide many quality minutes right from the word go.
Does this open scholarship mean Lance Stephenson will land at Maryland now? I wouldn’t count on it, but the word is Gary Williams visited Stephenson over the weekend. Only time will tell how this crazy recruiting story will pan out. If I had to guess Lance Stephenson may have the second most tags on our board, after Greivis Vasquez. Go Terps!
