Lady’s First
Just want to take a few minutes to congratulate the Maryland Women’s Basketball team on yet another huge win. Last night the Lady Terps lead by Kristi Toliver (23 point, 18 in the 2nd half) and Marissa Coleman (22 points) defeated the #2 ranked UNC Lady Heels. We often sit around and talk about how nice it would be to have a Basketball team that won the National Championship and used that moment as a springboard to bigger recruits and higher standards, well Brenda Frese and her lady’s have done just that. Congratulations to Coach Frese who continues to make all Maryland fans proud.
Also want to point out the Lady Heels wore pink in Honor of Kay Yow, I certainly thought it was a nice touch. It certainly wasn’t something they had to do, and no one would have said a word had they worn their traditional baby blues, and I think that is what makes it so nice. As much as I have heard about Kay Yow and what she has accomplished and the lives she has touched during her career, I know Debbie and the rest of the Yow family must truely be humbled by these tributes from all across NCAA Basketball.
Extra DroppingsExtra: Going back to basketball briefly the reported attendance for the UNC-Maryland match up was 12,671. I can’t help but wonder what tomorrow’s true attendance will be for the Men’s match up with BC (if you didn’t count all the no-shows and scan and leaves). So again Congratulations to the Lady Terps, keep on trucking!

Well said. It was a crazy game. MD went on a huge run (12 or 14 -0) and then UNC had one to take the lead. Then MD had another one in the second half. Also I am really disturbed at how much Rashanda McCants looks like Rashad McCants.

Rashanda had all the tats too. Kristi Tolliver was on fire in the second half. I think she hit 3, 3 point shots in a row. Maybe she could play for the men. She shoots from the same distance.

My Dad was unaware they used a different sized ball. He said the same thing until I told him that.
