It Starts with One
It wasn’t pretty, in fact it was down right ugly, but the Terps were able to pull this one out. You can say a lot about Maryland Basketball, but you can’t say that every time they take the court you know what to expect. As always during Conference play Gary Williams and the boys took me through about 100 different emotions.
I spent most of the first half in denial, then durning the first 10 minutes of the second half, I was trying to project out how many ACC games we would win (I couldn’t decide between 5 or 6), but Maryland somehow put it together down the stretch and took home this must win.
Let’s face it, we do have to battle through Duke, UNC, Wake, and Clemson, there aren’t many “gimme” games out there, so any home game against an opponent that isn’t one of the above 4, has to be won. Sure you could probably drop one eventually, knowing that somewhere somehow this team will win a game it wasn’t supposed to win, but still that doesn’t mean we should. Wouldn’t it be nice to not have to sweat out a Selection Sunday for once.
Anyway, as I was watching the game it occured to me that we really can’t recap ACC games in just a quick blog. We can do it for the Bryants, and Elon’s of the world, but not the ACC games. So there will inevitably be more to discuss here, but I wanted to get a knee jerk reaction posted before the NFL playoff games started. For all the stress and frustration, I’m happy to say we are starting ACC play at 1-0.

I’m more concerned now that ever. A Morgan State win and GT loss and I’m not that upset. I Morgan State loss and a GT loss would have been a season ending blow for me at least. I can’t believe they pulled this game out but I will give them credit for playing hard.
