These are the Times to Try Men’s Souls

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

When I’m not banging my head against the wall after watching the Terps lose, I do have other hobbies.  One of which is history.  Well laying in bed this morning staring at the ceiling, one particular quote came to mind, Thomas Paine’s “These are the times to try men’s souls” speech.  Actually the speech was [...]

Jin Soo Kim reinstated

Friday, January 30th, 2009

The Washington Post is reporting that Jin Soo Kim has been reinstated by the NCAA, effective immediately.  They are not reporting any details.  Wow, some good news for once.  Wouldn’t it be great if he plays Saturday and contributes to a victory.  That would be poetic justice.

What to do. . . What to do? Part Deux

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Let me start this whole article by first saying without Gary Williams, we probably wouldn’t have this website.  His rebuilding of the program is one of the things that got me really excited about going to Maryland.  Gary brought the program back from the depths of the ACC and made Maryland Basketball an event.  Maybe [...]

What to do. . . What to do? Part 1

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

This is the first part of a two part series where we look at the pro’s and con’s of keeping Gary Williams.  Today’s installment will focus on why Gary needs to stay.  With that, let’s begin.

Economic times are tough no doubt about it.  Ironically some of the hardest hit people in this crunch are those [...]

Second Half Slide drops Terps against BC

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

In a story that is becoming all too familiar, it was again a tale of two halves.  The first was as good of offensive and defensive basketball as we Maryland fans had witnessed all season.  And at the same time I was waiting for the inevitable collapse.  And our boys did not disappoint.  They went [...]

The hits just keep on coming

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

The Washington Post is reporting tonight that Jin Soo Kim has been declared academically ineligible.  Their source also states that MD is appealing the decision and he will be able to practice with the team but not play for the time being.
Anyone else get the feeling that the Terps are cursed?

March Sadness

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Lucky me, I guess I draw the short straw tonight.  Well what can I say?  I take pride in being one of the most optimistic people I know, but even I’m depressed.  This isn’t at all what I thought would happen.  Even when I got the inevitable text messages as panic set in across Terp [...]

The Weather Outside is Frightful

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

It is kind of weird to be writing about the weather for a basketball game.  Football, sure, but basketball is played indoors.  Well I think it is worth pointing out that it is snowing in Maryland today.  Now to most of the country this isn’t really news worthy.  To Maryland it’s the second biggest story [...]

Terps Vs Boston College Pregame

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

The good news is, that most of us don’t have very long to dwell on the Duke game.   Let’s hope the rest of the team just kind of forgot about it and moved on quickly and are prepared for tonight’s game with the Eagles from BC.  So here is all you need to know about [...]

Lady’s First

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Just want to take a few minutes to congratulate the Maryland Women’s Basketball team on yet another huge win.  Last night the Lady Terps lead by Kristi Toliver (23 point, 18 in the 2nd half) and Marissa Coleman (22 points) defeated the #2 ranked UNC Lady Heels.  We often sit around and talk about how [...]
