Notre Dame Football Lacrosse Player to Transfer to Maryland

Will Yeatman, a tight end, and attack man for lacrosse, will enroll at Maryland after getting his release from Notre Dame.  Yeatman was suspended from the football team after being arrested for under age drinking, giving false information, and resisting arrest.  Last year he missed the lacrosse season after being arrested for “operating under the influence”.  He will be eligible to play lacrosse this year , and will have to more seasons after that.  He will have to sit out the 2009 football season before being eligible  with two seasons remaining.

I am all for giving people second chances, and we all know people who have had issues similar to these, but you have to question the kid when he has so much to lose from continuously making bad decisions.  Hopefully he will turn it around, but don’t be surprised if he slips up again.  That being said, we have had very few problems with the football team, that maybe being around the right people will help him.

Did this guy come to Maryland as a Football player first, Lax player second? Or a Lax player, big enough to play football. Doesn’t sound like the best character guy, but hopefully he can pull it together.
